I think Walk the World's Rim is a tough book I LOVE this story, but it has a slow start. Sometimes instead of the questions from the IG I will ask dd to draw a picture of the setting, the protagonist, antagonist, or the conflict as she listens to the story. This gives her something to focus on or pay extra attention to. HTH.

This is a wonderful book; I would label it "historical near-non-fiction". It is written with incredible attention to historical detail and centers around a young Native American boy and a slave, Esteban, whose real life exploits should not be left out of any early American History education/5.
